Getting started

How do I add my first pet?

Open the app and tap "Add pet" on the welcome screen. Enter your dog's name, breed, date of birth, and photo. Once added, you can immediately start logging walks, vet visits, and vaccinations.

How do I log a walk?

Tap the Log tab and select "Walk". Enter the duration, distance (optional), and your dog's mood. Walks are saved instantly — no internet required.

Can I add more than one pet?

Yes. PawLog supports up to 5 pets. Tap the pet switcher at the top of the Home screen to add another pet or switch between them.

Does PawLog work for cats?

Yes. Set the pet type to "cat" when adding a pet and the app adapts — walk logging becomes activity logging, and all health tracking features work identically.

Health records

How do I add a vaccination?

Go to Health → Vaccinations → Add vaccination. Enter the vaccine name, date given, and next due date. PawLog will show a status badge (up to date, due soon, or overdue) and send reminders automatically.

How do I record a vet visit?

Go to Log → Add vet visit. Enter the date, reason, vet name, diagnosis, treatment notes, and any follow-up reminders. You can also attach a photo of a prescription.

How do I track flea and wormer treatments?

Go to Health → Treatments → Add treatment. Select the product type (flea, tick, wormer, or custom), enter the date given, and choose the frequency (monthly, quarterly, or annually). PawLog calculates the next due date automatically.

How do I export a vaccination card?

Go to Health → Vaccinations → Export PDF. PawLog generates a clean, formatted vaccination card with your dog's name, breed, and full vaccination history. Share it via AirDrop, email, or any app on your phone.

Notifications

How do I turn on vaccination reminders?

When you add a vaccination or treatment with a due date, PawLog automatically schedules reminders at 30 days, 7 days, and on the due date. Make sure notification permissions are granted in your phone's Settings.

Why am I not receiving notifications?

Check Settings on your phone and make sure PawLog has permission to send notifications. On Android, also check that battery optimisation is not preventing the app from running in the background.

Data & export

How do I export my data?

Go to Settings → Export data. You can export a CSV of all walk logs, vet visits, vaccinations, treatments, and weight measurements. The file contains only your own data and can be opened in any spreadsheet app.

What happens to my data if I get a new phone?

In v1.0, data is tied to your device. If iCloud Backup (iOS) or Google Backup (Android) includes PawLog and you restore from backup, your data should transfer. We recommend exporting a CSV before switching phones as a safety net.

How do I permanently delete all my data?

Delete the app from your phone. Your data is stored only on your device, so uninstalling the app removes everything permanently. There is no cloud copy and nothing to request from us.

Purchase & refunds

How much does PawLog cost?

PawLog is £5.99 (or $7.99 USD) as a one-time purchase. You pay once and own it forever — no subscription, no recurring charges.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google. On iOS: go to reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android: open the Play Store → Order history → Request a refund. We have no ability to process refunds directly.

I bought PawLog on one phone. Can I use it on another?

Yes. On iOS, use the same Apple ID to restore your purchase — tap "Restore purchases" in Settings. On Android, the same Google account gives you access on any Android device you own.
